Transfer to Avios or Flying Blue only after you find the award you want. Both programs can be reached from eligible U.S. Chase Ultimate Rewards and American Express Membership Rewards accounts, but they price and release award seats differently. A transfer bonus by itself does not make either program the better choice.

Search first, then choose a currency
Avios is used by several airline loyalty programs, but their award prices, availability and fees can differ. Flying Blue is Air France and KLM's loyalty program; it also sells award seats on partner airlines. Compare the exact flight you would book, including cash charges and connection time.
Eligible Chase cards list partners such as British Airways and Flying Blue. American Express also lists both through its Membership Rewards transfer page. Eligibility, ratios and transfer times depend on the account and can change. Both transfers are generally final, so verify the award seat before you move points.
Which should you transfer to?
Use Avios when its award is cheaper or fits your route better. Use Flying Blue when its award, partner routing or sale is the better fit. If neither has space at a reasonable total cost, keep the bank points flexible and check another program.
